Dr Hala Elwakil is professor of Medical Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University and Associate faculty of ASU MENA FRI. She is the director of MASRI Animals Facility. She is a reviewer at Research ethical committee REC, and Committee of animal research ethics CARE, Faculty of Medicine Ain Shams University. Hala is also a reviewer at Science and technology developmental fund (STDF)

Dr Elwakil is a member of the scientific committees for the promotion of professors and associate professors of medical parasitology. Between 2012-2018 She was the director of Parasitological Research & Diagnostic Unit, Faculty of medicine ASU. She is an active board member and the treasurer of Egyptian parasitologist united EPU society and a member of the Asian Council of Science Editors ACSE's.
