Unit Introduction:

It   analyzes   biological   information   using computer  software        and statistical techniques.

Activities:

1. Molecular bioinformatic workshop coordinated by MASRI April 2019.
2. Gene expression analysis with RNA-seq data, bioinformatic             
3.           workshop coordinated by MASRI January, 2020.

Achievements:

Conducting a bioinformatics course (Introduction to Bioinformatics (IBT) 2020) with the collaboration with H3ABionet for 3 months.

Delivering several online hands-on courses for training of MASRI researchers

and other Scientists to be able to perform Bioinformatics techniques needed for their research:

1. Introduction to Bioinformatics Training based in Cape Town University and funded by H3ABioNet and NIH.
2. S16 Intermediate Bioinformatics training online courses funded by H3ABioNet and NIH.
3. Providing our services of the NGS and Molecular Biology labs in MASRI and other institutes.
4. Applying for future projects funded Nationally and Internationally for sustainability of the unit.
