Dr. Awatef Mady is a fellow of Biochemistry and Chemistry of Nutrition at Ain Shams University. She is the supervisor of experimental animal unit in Animal house of MASRI, Faculty of Medicine.
Awatef has worked at Faculty of Science and Arts at Alqassim University- Saudi Arabia since 2010-2018. In addition, Awatef was responsible for explanation of the students about the animal house various sections, all kinds of experimental animals used in scientific research as horse which is of a great importance in preparation of various vaccines as well as Goats, Pigs and Dogs which are used to perform various surgeries for most medical and dental specialties . The student was also trained on how to deal with small experimental animals such as rabbits, rats and mice, how to increase production, also different methods of injections, dissection and collection blood and tissue samples to separate and preserve. In addition, explained how to calculate all drug doses according to animal weight. Trying to prevent pain and infection to all animals specially those under surgical operations.
She was teaching the theoretical courses for some levels of students at Saudi Arabia such as General Chemistry (1,2), Biology, Health culture, Immunity and Biochemistry, she was also the supervisor of the research projects of undergraduate students at the final graduate from 2010-2018.
Awatef was an active member in research, she is interested with the data of the of snake and scorpion poison, among which are used in the manufacture of vaccines for treatment of people affected by snake and scorpion bites. She was a member in a number of projects funded by the ASRT (Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Cairo Egypt) named "Developing therapeutic antisera for Scorpion venom" (1992-1994) and "Development of anti-snake venom antisera" (1999-2002).
